Helping older people stay connected and independent

Groups and Activities

Our groups and activities are designed to support older people in Cumbernauld and the surrounding areas to build confidence, develop new skills, improve wellbeing and enjoy meaningful social connections. CACE organises a variety of social, recreational and educational activities, giving people the opportunity to try something new, meet others and stay active and engaged within their community. From regular group sessions and social activities to workshops, outings and special events, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved, make new connections and enjoy time together.

Outings

CACE provides Community Transport services to help older people and others who may experience social isolation or have difficulty accessing local services and activities. Our accessible and friendly transport helps people stay connected with their community, attend appointments, take part in groups and activities, and maintain greater independence. We also organise trips and outings, providing opportunities to get out, meet others, enjoy new experiences and make the most of time spent together.

Befriending

Our face-to-face Befriending Service provides friendship, companionship and regular social contact for older people who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation. CACE’s friendly and supportive befrienders offer a listening ear and a chance to build a meaningful new friendship, helping people feel more connected and supported. The service also creates opportunities to get involved in social activities, meet others and enjoy new experiences within the local community.

Transport

CACE provides community transport for non-profit organisations, including schools, voluntary groups, churches, youth groups and charities. We do not offer self-drive hire. All journeys include a fully qualified, Midas-trained driver. CACE operates under a Section 19 Community Bus Permit.

We love hearing how excited people get when they see our buses turning up with presents, or to take them on a day out.
